Real feedback from students who’ve taken our training into the field, the workplace, and real emergency situations.
Wilderness First Responder
Ready SF was the NOLS provider for my Wilderness First Responder in Feb, '23. A really fun and dynamic course, although short, since it was a hybrid WFR, I learned a ton of valuable skills essential for medical decision making in the back country. CPR/AED and EpiPen training included. We did real field simulations from a host of topics from the classroom and applied scenarios in all sorts of weather, at all times of day and night. These are the sorts of preparedness skills more folks in the outdoors should carry on their expeditions.
Wilderness First Responder
I had the pleasure of attending the NOLS / Ready SF Wilderness First Responder training led by Dave in March '22, and it was literally one of the most impactful learning experiences of my life. Dave has so much experience and tribal knowledge that compliments the core curriculum, and the hands-on scenarios designed by Dave were extremely effective in learning how to apply the analytical and practical skills learned in the classroom. I cannot recommend Dave and Ready SF strongly enough - if you have the opportunity to learn from Dave, don't miss it!
Engaging Recert
I did my NOLS WFR recert with Ready SF. In my 15-odd years of maintaining a WFR, it was one of the least tedious recerts I've taken. The instructors, Megan and Jennifer, were working from a solid knowledge base and brought great energy to the course. The class location on the Marin Headlands was exceptional!
CPR/ AED and First Aid training
I organized an office CPR/ AED and First Aid training for group of us. David was very responsive from the very first inquiry till we completed our training. He has a ton of experience working with individuals, small to big teams, and schools. He is a great trainer and makes a long training to be actually fun! We will also be getting Emergency Preparedness training from him. I strongly recommend David to everyone!
Professional & Fun
It was great! Thank you so much. The instructors were professional yet fun. I've had several staff members report that they got more out of that training than any of their prior CPR sessions. Dan @ Crowden Music School

Expert Instructors
Ready SF does a wonderful job of combining education, adventure, and fun. They are dedicated to the success of their students to prepare them for the real world and create a safe learning environment. Highly recommend after doing my Wilderness First Responder course with them. Dave and Jess are incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic teachers.
Exceptional Training
We had Ready SF come and train over 150+ teachers at our school this year and Maya was honestly the best trainer we've ever had. So many teachers came to tell me the same thing- the course was engaging, practical and extraordinarily high quality.
Highly recommend
Great organization that offers very effective and enjoyable first aid courses. Me and my organization have been using them for years. Dave and his staff are always personable, well trained and awesome. Highly recommend.
Knowledgeable Instructors
Our school has used Ready SF for both CPR and first aid training. The instructors are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They have been able to accommodate each group, from 15-100 employees. Thank you for setting us up for successful and healthy school years.

Inclusive Learning
I had Dave, one of Ready SF's long-time instructors, for my Wilderness First Responder Course recertification this past weekend. Dave was incredibly knowledgable, personable, and made the course and class culture inclusive and psychologically safe. Ready SF placed emphasis on mental health first-aid, which I very much appreciated, and based the course curriculum on the latest research and science. I learned a lot with Dave as my instructor for both Wilderness Medicine and CPR training! Would definitely recommend Ready SF.
Hands-On Coaching
READYSF was super easy to work with and was able to find an instructor for us on a very short notice! I really appreciate the super streamlined process and consistent communications! Rachel, the instructor, was an amazing coach! Our team loved having her and she did an amazing job answering all of the questions we had. We really appreciated any corrections she had for us to ensure we were practicing the skills properly!
Real Confidence
I took a Wilderness First Responder course with Ready SF and it exceeded my expectations in every way, in fact it kind of blew my mind. Instructors Dave and Brandon taught a huge volume of information in a fun and engaging way, and trained us in many critical skills over the course of five days. They are both really great teachers with deep knowledge of wilderness medicine. But what really stood out was the lessons they demonstrated in leadership, teamwork, improvisation, and self-efficacy, and about the positive effect a responder can have by being a calm and hopeful voice amid chaos and fear. I went in thinking I'd learn some useful medical skills, and finished the week with a huge confidence boost and a renewed sense of resilience that I can apply to my everyday life, on and off the trails. I highly recommend any class they teach!
Fun & Engaging
My wife and I took the NOLS Hybrid WFR course through ReadySF and it was amazing! I’ve always wanted to do the 10-day course but time off and travel made that hard for years. Then the hybrid model started and we were able to get the coursework beforehand to study and then only participate in five days in person. Living in SF, the course in Sausalito was perfect for us. Bravo to ReadySF! I’m excited to learn more in the future. (Greg C. - google) Ready SF does a wonderful job of combining education, adventure, and fun. Exceeded Expectations
The Hybrid Wilderness First Responder Course exceeded my expectations. The instructors were highly knowledgeable, engaging, and supportive throughout. I left the course feeling significantly more confident in my skills and better prepared to assist those in need.
Wilderness First Responder
I've taken first aid in some fashion every few years since the 80s -in the military, sponsored by various organizations, Red Cross, and even the NOLS Wilderness First Aid through a different provider. I recently took the Wilderness First Responder taught by Ready SF and it was great. This was my favorite and most complete. The time investment is high, but so is the reward. I know more than I ever did about first aid and feel the most capable of applying it in a practical situation. I highly recommend Ready SF for the great job.
Taught both in English and Spanish
Ready SF had great communication overall. They were very responsive when I reached out.The instructor (Daniel) is very knowledgeable and engaging. His calm demeanor illustrates how we should be during a true emergency. He was able to respond to any questions the students presented and truly knows the information and presents it in an understandable way. I liked his use of storytelling to bring scenarios to life.
Real-World Insights
David hosted a CPR training class for our open water swim club in San Francisco. He was thorough with sending a pre-read (a series of tutorial videos to watch before the class) as well as very patient and knowledgeable in terms of handling Q&A from the audience. During the class, we all had the opportunity to practice CPR compressions and head tilt/chin back breathing. It was also super helpful to see firsthand how an AED works and hear the prompts. I also appreciated that he shared valuable insights from his own personal stories, including how to quickly use Narcan if someone is experiencing an opiate overdose. I left this CPR training feeling much more confident that I now know what to do in an emergency situation if someone is unresponsive - thank you for teaching us how to be ready to act!!
Lively Instruction
I did my NOLS WFR recertification with Ready SF, and it was great. One of the better recerts I've taken in my 15ish years of maintaining a WFR certification. The instructors, Megan and Jennifer, led a solid, lively course, and the location on the Marin Headlands was hard to beat.
Practical Experience
Took the NOLS WFA training through ReadySF - they were quick to respond when booking and provided us with feedback from previous courses so it made the experience enjoyable. The trainers were phenomenal, they kept us engaged over the two days and gave us great real life examples/practical situations. Would recommend!
